Driving Instructor Fees
LearnerPass applies a tiered servied fee schedule for instructors, with the fee percentage decreasing as each instructor's accumulated lesson hours increase.
1. Service Fee Overview
- Service fees are charged on every payment made to an instructor through LearnerPass, including lesson booking and any other earnings paid such as learner cancellation fee payments.
- The fee rate an instructor pays is linked to the total lesson hours completed.
- As instructors complete more hours, they move into higher service levels with a lower percentage fee.
2. Service Levels & Fee Rates
The table below outlines our current service levels, the accumulated lesson hours required, and the applied service fee rate.
| Service Level | Accumulated Lesson Hours | Service Fee Rate |
| Level 1 | 0 - 499 | 20% |
| Level 2 | 500 - 1,499 | 19% |
| Level 3 | 1,500 - 2,490 | 18% |
| Level 4 | 2,500 - 3,499 | 17% |
| Level 5 | 3,500+ | 15% |
3. How Progression Between Levels Works
- Lesson hours count once the booking has been complete and payment to the instructor has been successfully processed through LearnerPass.
- When an instructor's accumulated hours reach the threshold for the next level, the new, lower service fee automatically applies to future payments.
- Service levels and hours are visible to instructors on their Dashboard so they can track progress toward the next level.
4. Introductory Service Fee For New Instructors
- New instructors may be eligible for an introductory service fee that is lower than the standard rate for a limited time.
- To request an introductory rate or to confirm eligibility, instructors should contact support via the helpdesk or by submitting a support ticket from within their instructor account.
5. Important Notes
- Payments to instructors are shown and processed after service fees have been deducted.
- Service fees apply only to bookings and payments processed through LearnerPass; instructors must not accept direct payments from learners outside the platform for LearnerPass bookings.
